Past Gigs: 31-01-2008 Volta Amsterdam together with Peter: We supposed to have played with our friends Mechanism, but they had to cancel. So Volta replaced them with 2 other bands in a totally different style. Nevertheless we played a nice gig for some of our intimate friends and the bartender.
29-12-2007 Elektra Sliedrecht together with Peter: It almost felt like a tour, two gigs in a row. I don’t know if it had something to do with it, but Richard didn’t felt to well and I got an terrible cold. Gig wise, we had a lot of fun with the audience, which were predominately the Animadverto & Deadcell crew and a few innocent bystanders. Not an unforgettable perfomance but we sure had some fun. Thanks Yvo & Marcus, you are the best!!
28-12-2007 JC Todo Best together with Peter: Great crew, great sound, great line-up, too bad there were a handfull of people when we played.
14-10-2007 P60 Amstelveen together with The Young Gods Peter: The Young Gods were there elegant selves again. Great people!! What is there to say about P60? Nice people, good food, great sound, great light, great everyhting really. We really had a great time, I hope everybody who stayed in the back had that aswell.
19-04-2007 Metropool Hengelo together with De Peter: A historic place to play, also the very first time we played together with Deadcell & AnimAdverto as a package. Friendly people, skilled sound and light engineers and our great pals Marcus & Yvo, what could go wrong? Nothing actually, this was a good gig!!
23-03-2007 The Rambler Eindhoven Peter: What goes up, must come down. After 3 amazing gigs, this one was not thát great. Unfortunally the soundguy from the Rambler got the hang of it towards the end of our gig. Also the monitors didn’t provide the punch we normally allways have. Anyways, we did an encore together with Marcus (Deadcell) and that was really great (thanks Marcus!!) Also after the gigs, it was really great to hangout with Marcus, Andreas and the rest of the Deadcell crew (hi ladies!), we really enjoyed it!! Also thanks to our Belgium friends, Peter Mastbooms, his girlfriend and Kris Peeters who came all the way over from Antwerpen, just to see us play. Thanks!
20-01-2007 De Bastille Schoonhoven together with Maskim Xull & No Forgiveness Peter: We have no idea what’s happening to us. Nice people from The Bastille, great bands to play with, and a very good crowd. There have been other times I can tell you ! Again we had the time of our lives here, thanks to everybody who was in the Bastille!!
23-12-2006 De Pluu Winsum together with AnimAdverto & Death Of Dawn Peter: Again a killer gig!! Just like St Oedenrode not a very large place, but cozy as hell!! We had a great time watching Aminadverto, unfortunally we couldn’t stay for Death Of Dawn because of our 2 1/2 hour drive back to Amsterdam. Thanks everybody who attented our gig!! By the way, did anybody find our backdrop stand? We left it outside De Pluu I’m afraid.
16-12-2006 De Werf St. Oedenrode together with Deadcell Peter: This was a killer gig, first of all it was our first date together with Deadcell and that was a very good combination as it turned out. Secondly a very open minded audience which went crazy at the end of our set and demanded an encore. Let me tell you, that happened only once in the last 12 years!! Thanks everybody at the Werf, you guys and galls ROCK!!
27-10-2006 “Massacre II” Dynamo Eindhoven together with Star Industry Peter: It took us 4 hours to get there (normally an hour and a half drive), when we got there, we couldn’t park our cars and when we played their were no people. Still...... We head a great time and everybody who wás there enjoyed it.
08-07-2006 Parkhof Open Air Alkmaar Peter: As this was the first gig where I started playing bass instead of keyboards, this was a ball for me personallyl!!
20-05-2006 Molfest Heerhugowaard together with Mantikhoras/Sylver Myst/The Dreamside Peter: As we didn’t exactly fell in too place here (all the other acts played a sort of metal with female vocals) we didn’t go down that well. Nevermind, it can also be a sport to have people run for the bar.
22-11-2005 Paradiso Amsterdam supporting Young Gods Peter: The day before this gig, we were rapping up our mixing session for the cd Modus Operandi. We had a good time playing in Paradiso again. Too bad we had to start very very early so their was almost nobody there when we started .....except our pal Roland Zwaga ofcourse.
25-02-2005 Parkhof Alkmaar together with Asrai Peter: After more then 10 years we played together again. Good gig!!
07-05-2004 Eurobeat - Hof Ter Lo Antwerpen Peter: A great festival with acts like Insect and Split Second on the bill. Again (this was the second time we played there) almost nobody showed up!! Besides that we had a good time anyway.
09-01-2004 Eurosonic Festival - De Beurs Groningen Peter: Although we weren’t mentioned in the official gig list of Eurosonic, we still played very well thet night. Afterwards I ate the best Pizza I have ever eaten!!
01-01-2004 Wogpop Festival - J.C Everland Wognum Peter: I guess everybody who saw our gig had a hangover or something, because there was almost no response. At the same time, we have never sold that much cd’s afterwards (??)
19-10-2003 Atlantis Alkmaar Peter: In fact this was a competiition, which we won!! Good gig.
12-05-2002 Baroeg Rotterdam together with Drionide NG-Pro Asrai Gail Of God Angels & Agony Malochia Peter: a benefit for the Baroeg. Again one of the bands did an awfull long soundcheck, so the whole program had to be shortened. Guess which band was the loser here....
01-02-2002 OCC init Amsterdam together with Fibre and Chokedown (formerly known as Smear) Peter: Always nice to play with your pals, but I never, ever, will let anybody have a go with our lightshow.
27-01-2002 Hof Ter Loo Antwerpen Eurorock Pre-Selections Peter: We played in the afternoon with an awfull lot of bands (we payed for this gig!!). Large hall, almost no audience.
07-12-2001 Winston Kingdom Amsterdam together with The Regiment Peter: Nice gig
19-02-2001 OCC init Amsterdam together with Smear. Peter: See below
18-02-2001 Groene Engel Oss together with Hoer Peter: The very same thing occured again like with Neubauten, somebody of the band was on holiday. This time I was in Bali at the time. They had my keyboard parts on tape, and me in person replaced by a showroomdummie (hello Kraftwerk!)
11-09-1999 Korsakov Amsterdam together with Gail Of God Peter: This was in fact part of a festival. We had the oppertunity to watch Gail Of God doing their act on stage and continueing that in the dressingroom. Good gig, but it was 25 Degrees outside aswell as inside the place.
29-11-1997 Melkweg Amsterdam supporting Rammstein Peter: Wow, this describes it the best I suppose. During our soundscheck Rammstein did a photoshoot in the middle of the venue, so they were our audience that afternoon. Meanwhile in the evening when we entered the stage the venue was already packed, the show went like a dream.
06-09-1997 Paradiso Amsterdam supporting Einstürzende Neubauten Peter: We were asked to play this gig!! So we couldn’t refuse, although Fred was on Holiday. What to do? Well I sampled all his guitarparts and perfomed them live on the keyboard, that worked great, what didn’t work great was an Minidisc player with the backing on it. It skipped several times during the show. It was the most bizarre gig I have ever done.
30-04-1997 Onder De Ooievaar Amsterdam Peter: This was on Queensday outside a Cafe. Nice detail: in the backline was also a speakercabinet that once belonged to Tom Holkenborg form Nerve, our hero back then (and now!).
15-11-1996 Arena Amsterdam together with Boobytrap/Malochia Peter: This was the farewell gig for Boobytrap. They took so much time soundchecking, that for us and Malochia just wasn’t enough time. Also, Fred once played with Boobytrap for a couple of years, we expected a good party afterwards but that unfortunally didn’t happen.
16-12-1995 Vrieshuis America Amsterdam Private Party Evert/Ellen Peter: Again a gig next to the “IJ”. We thought of making t-shirts with ‘REEL IJ-Tour’ on it (The IJ is in fact the harbour of Central Amsterdam). Again a private party, outside minus 5 degrees and inside (believe it or not) 2 degrees tops. The hired heatguns refused to start!! This was the first gig where Fred left his trustfully Marshall at home and played direct using his FX with speaker simulator.
07-10-1995 JC Argus Amsterdam together with Frozen Sun Peter: In fact an unpayed gig, but we were eager to play with Frozen Sun. By the way, Felix Van Dommelen doubled up that evening, as our live sound mixer and keyboardplayer with Frozen Sun.
24-02-1995 Arena Amsterdam together with Godflesh Peter:Unfortunally Godflesh or somebody from their crew did see us as heavy competition (?). Something which I didn’t understand, we all three were fans of Godflesh. Anyways, they had someone from The Arena put a brickwall limiter, before the poweramps, without us knowing that. So the soundcheck sounded great, while the performance that evening didn’t sound too good. When Godflesh did their set all our ears fell straight off, it was so goddamned loud!!
23-12-1994 Repetitiehuis Amsterdam together with Screaming Orgasm Peter: This was also a low-profile gig. Repetitiehuis which don’t excists anymore, was a rehearselspace for a lot of bands.
12-11-1994 De Silo Amsterdam together with Asrai Peter: As the previous gig was not an public gig, this gig felt like the very first. I worked for weeks on a midi controlled lightshow which worked flawless, aswell as our equipment and the ability to play for a larger audience. Althought it was very cold outside, and we could feel a strong draft inside this huge abandoned warehouse, we were very fired up as you will understand.
09-04-1994 Partyboat ms D’Aemstel Amsterdam Private Party Carola Vlastuin Peter: Well, this was in fact our very first gig, for about 30-40 friends of Carola Vlastuin. It sure is rememberable, first of all this party boat had a curve in the floor, which made us stand in a 20 degree angle. Secondly, midway in our 6 song set Fred broke a string on his, then only, guitar which made us pause for a couple of minutes. Thirdly, and here is the sad part, Carola died in 2005, which inspired us to write a song about her called “Blue”, which appeared on the “Modus Operandi” record.
