17th of March 2007 Again another amazing 4 tracks have been recorded by Richard this time. Again also, he wrote the lyrics on the spot. Fred added the last bassguitar part for a “forgotten” song., and we also decided to call it a day concerning new material. We’ll stick to 18 songs and will make a selection when they are finished .Check out some pictures during the sessions. 10th of February 2007 Fortunally Fred and Peter found the time to do another day of recording. Today we recorded the guitar parts for 4 new songs. All together we have 18 new songs of which 9 now have sketch vocals on it. Still we have one other song still to make, the unavoidable ambient track which has always turned up on all of our records. The one point you can take a moment to relax and take a deep breath, before the rollercoaster starts to go down again. 3rd of February 2007 A tremendous amount of work has been done today. In fact Richard did 75% of all the work, as he managed to squeeze out no less then 7 vocal parts for 7 songs!! Mind you, he wrote the lyrics on the spot, while he had not heard any of the backing tracks up until now. After Richard left, Fred and Peter worked on, again, a new song called (working Title) “Balls” Check out some pictures during the vocal sessions. 13th of January 2007 Allthough it seems we are doing nothing, I can tell you that we have finished about 8 or 9 basic tracks for a couple of possible new songs. A couple already have the guitar/bass parts on it, and a couple also have scratch vocals. Today we produced 3 songs where Fred add his guitar on the already ready made backing of drums perscussion, synths and scratch bass, made by Peter in the last couple of weeks. 7th of August 2006 Fred & Peter worked on a couple of old “Conteched” (A project Fred & Peter worked on for about one and a half years but fell through in the end) tunes. They are re-working the basis ideas to bend it a little more into the new REEL style. Check this picture where Fred is laying down a guitarpart for one of the tracks. 23 July 2006 All right then, we started working on our next CD, introducing some new elements and different way of writing the stuff. First of all real bass guitar and live drums will be integrated in the REEL studio sound, which will possibly make it more open and more accessible for our audience. Second the vocal approach is also different as Richard will try to write lyrics on the spot as he will hear the tunes for the first time. This method worked very good, when we made the song “together” with our Japanese Cyberfriend Kenji Siratori. Today (23rd of July) we made a head start and recorded two demo vocal parts for two new tracks Fred and Peter made a couple of weeks ago, worktitles “Razor” and “Wack” Check out some pictures us working on the stuff:
